EVPs were included when the ONS released its annual review of the shopping basket items that make up its inflation calculations after becoming a popular lifestyle choice in recent years.
Marc Michelsen, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Fontem Ventures, said: “Fontem Ventures is delighted to see that the popularity of EVPs has been recognised by the Office of National Statistics.
“The growth of the EVPs category underlines their attractiveness to the adult market, comprised almost entirely of current or former smokers. We believe that this will continue to grow over the next few years and Fontem Ventures plans to ensure that quality EVP products are regulated to provide reassurance and choice for consumers.”
Fontem Ventures was founded in 2012, the intent was to create an innovative portfolio of non-tobacco products aimed at the adult market.
Fontem Ventures recently expanded its EVP range with the launch of JAI in France and Italy last month, the first new product on the market since the successful launch of Puritane in February 2014.
JAI is a premium product and offers a multi-sensorial experience with three distinct, smooth tastes for consumers to select from: Rich (blue), Intense (red), and Fresh (green).
